New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is set to appear on the season finale of CBS legal drama, The Good Wife, but he won’t have to stretch his acting skills too far. Bloomberg will be appearing on the show on April 28th, but he will be appearing as himself, and a few other familiar faces will be popping up in the series as well.
The Good Wife, which has been renewed for a fifth season, is welcoming Mayor Bloomberg to its set in a role related to the gubernatorial election. Nothing else has been revealed about the role Bloomberg will play specifically in the finale, but we know that the episode occurs on the eve of Peter’s (Chris Noth) gubernatorial election. At the same time, Alicia (Julianna Margulies), Will (Josh Charles) and Diane (Christine Baranski) must race to a series of emergency court proceedings when Zach (Graham Phillips) believes he's witnessed vote tampering.
Other familiar faces which will be seen on The Good Wife alongside Bloomberg are Martha Plimpton, T.R. Knight (Grey’s Anatomy), Denis O’Hare, Dylan Baker, Ana Gasteuer and Estelle Parsons.
This is not the first time real-life figures have appeared as themselves on the drama. Since the series’ debut in 2009, the likes of Donna Brazile, Bill Maher, Joe Trippi, Erica Hill, Lou Dobbs and civil rights activist Vernon Jordan have appeared in episodes.
