My interest in the last season of Dexter (well, probable last season) has just shot through the roof, as Showtime has announced that the lovely Yvonne Strahovski will be returning to the program this season, the series' eighth go-round.
Strahovski debuted on the program last season as Hannah McKay, Dexter's main squeeze until he turns her in. The former Chuck star was one of the bright spots on last season, the show's best season since arguably its fourth.
Scott Buck, an executive producer on the program, spoke in December and said that he hoped she would return, saying that at the time they were "in the process of making deals now."
When we last left McKay, she was leaving a flower arrangement on Dexter's door - was it a warning?
"It was a very dark shot, but it was a black orchid, which is meant to be a very ominous sign from Hannah that Dexter would understand what it meant," Buck added. "She's got very complicated feelings for Dexter; she loves and hates him at the same time."
It is unknown at this time if Dexter will continue after this upcoming season- there seems to be some real confusion at the network about that.
Regardless, the show returns Sunday, June 30.
