SyFy announced last evening at its upfront presentation and exciting new scripted series from the mind of Jamie Foxx and his production company, Foxxhole Prods. Foxx will be writing, executive producing and directing a yet-to-be titled five-episode horror anthology series. The series, which will debut during SyFy’s annual 31 Days Of Halloween in October, will be reminiscent of horror classic such as Tales From The Cypt and The Twilight Zone.
The contemporary series will focus on themes such as envy, jealousy and superficiality, and SyFy/UCP’s Mark Stern is confident Foxx will bring the thrills and chills. “Jamie Foxx’s passion and unique perspective will transform these universal insights on the human condition into emotionally potent and truly scary cautionary tales,” says Stern.
Foxx has been thinking about applying his Oscar winning talents to a project such as this for a long time. “I’m so happy to see it come to life,” Foxx says. “Get ready to lose it when some special friends and I bring the scares this October, and who knows… maybe I’ll make a guest appearance or two along the way!”
Foxx has enlisted the help of Troy Miller (Flight Of The Conchords) to executive produce the series alongside him, with Jeff Stilson, Jaimie King and Julie Yorn. Additional writers on the series include Mike Ferris (Terminator: Salvation) and John Pogue (Army Wives, Everwood).
