The high- stakes game of political intrigue is about to begin again.
Constance Zimmer from “House of Cards” tweeted “We start shooting Season 2 of #houseofcards in 2 weeks” today. Zimmer plays reporter Janine Skorsky.
The political drama stars Kevin Spacey, Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Kristen Connolly and Corey Stoll and is produced and developed by Beau Willimon. David Fincher is also a producer.
“House of Cards” is an adaptation of a BBC miniseries by the same moniker.
In the modern political thriller Spacey plays Rep. Frank Underwood, a hard- nosed politician with designs on the nation’s top job.
The second season will have 13 episodes, just like season one, though no word on if the second season will also be released all at once on Netflix.
“House of Cards” is the service’s first original series. Netflix members, meanwhile, were able to watch all 13 episodes starting Feb. 1, a trend that will be continued when the new “Arrested Development” episodes debut on the service in May.
It was also recently announced that Spacey and Wright, along with Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos will be guests of Bloomberg at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner April 27.
