Megan Draper dreamed that being with being Mrs. Don Draper would be like living in a fairy tale. That fairy tale has taken a bit of a ding in the series sixth season (minor spoilers) as it has been revealed that Mr. Draper has reverted to his old ways, as he has started cheating on Megan with Sylvia (Linda Cardellini), the wife of Doctor Rosen.
Now Megan, played by Jessica Pare, already one of the people in the show that viewers could few sympathetic for, will likely have to address the issue head on.
“Things were moving a little bit for her when her husband made this amazing sacrifice so that she could have something she wanted,” Pare said. “I think she feels she’s got it all, which is always a worrisome position for someone to be in.”
Of course, Megan's acting career could help Don keep his fling on the down low. Megan values a strong marriage, however, and likely will not let it slip away easily.
“I think that she’s always been trying to make herself happy and make him happy,” she added. “She wants to be a good partner. I think that is a fundamental part of who she is. I think she realized at some point in season five, in “The Codfish Ball,” she had this thing that she had to do. And if she wasn’t doing that, she wasn’t fulfilling her purpose.”
Do you like Don better when he is a single-woman man or when he is carefree? Do you consider him a likeable character at all?
