Are you following The Following (see what I did there)?
On the serial killer drama/thriller, tonight's episode (minor spoilers) sees the Havenport Police Department called in and Roderick's (Warren Kole) position is sheriff is threatened, which causes him to threaten the safety of Joey (Kyle Catlett). Roderick is a step ahead of FBI agents Debra Parker (Annie Parisse) and Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) now, but that could be changing very quickly. Given the tension rising with Roderick and Joe Caroll (James Purefoy), it seems the end is drawing closer and closer.
"Finally the FBI and Roderick's county -- that he's the sheriff of -- are colliding in a very serious way," said Kole.
Roderick is poised to help the FBI on tonight's episode, which Kole says "a great setup for what's coming. Something's going to have to be resolved ... and you can tell it's reaching a head."
Kole is enjoying his time on the series and calls Roderick "pure creation," saying that he is a "monster." As time has passed, Kole says that viewers have seen more of whom he is and that "it's more of a purifying of who this guy is; it's like purification by fire."
"I think you're starting to see who Roderick really is and what he really values," he added. "He's a real person. He's not just a foot soldier. He's not confined to a uniform. He's got his agenda but he's also unpredictable and you never know what he's going to do because he's clearly not well."
Will Roderick survive the season? Kole says, "it's a 50/50 shot."
