'Hannibal' gets UK premiere date

To all our UK readers: mark your calendars, you have a dinner date with Hannibal Lecter.

Hannibal

The Radio Times reports that NBC's atmospheric serial killer drama "Hannibal" is set to make its UK premiere May 7th on Sky Living. For those who can't wait until then, the first episode will be made available via Sky On Demand as of May 1st.

The series stars "Casino Royale"'s Mads Mikkelson as the titular twisted doctor, probing the mind of gifted but disturbed FBI criminal profiler Will Graham, played by "The Big C"'s Hugh Dancy. Graham has a unique ability to put himself in the shoes of brutal murderers, but is ill-prepared for what empathizing with twisted serial killers can do to his psyche.

Trust me when I say this is a unique, engrossing series -- only two weeks in and it already is at the top of my must-see list. While it is based on Thomas Harris' "Red Dragon" novel, the new series brings plenty of interesting twists to the table. Mikkelsen and Dancy are superb in the lead roles. The 13-part series also stars Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix"), Gillian Anderson ("The X-Files"), and Eddie Izzard ("The United States of Tara").

Check out a preview for yourself below, and don't miss the premiere on May 7th!
