Is the liberal media bias out in full force with the Boston Marathon bombing?
Conservative watchdogs say absolutely. These groups have been tracking what they see as bias and compiling lists on the internet to prove their points.
The Media Research Center, a group that seeks to highlight this bias, has posted a video of ABC's Good Morning America, where reporter Pierre Thomas told a guest that Timothy McVeigh and David Koresh made their attacks in April as well (both men are often listed as being on the far right of the political spectrum.
“For those who hate America and know something of its history, Monday had particular meaning. In Massachusetts, Monday was a state holiday: Patriots Day,” Thomas said.
The guest, Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center, replied with “The real Patriots Day is April 19. That is the date that counts for people on the extreme right in the United States."
Moving on to MSNBC, a decidedly liberal leaning network, the group pointed out what Chris Matthews said.
“Normally domestic terrorists -- people -- tend to be on the far right – although that’s not a good category," said Matthews. "Just extremists. Just call them that."
CNN's Wolf Blitzer apparently got in on the act as well, when he said that, “One intriguing thought here … it is a state holiday … in Massachusetts called Patriots Day, and who knows if that had anything to do with these twin explosions? “We don’t know the source, and we want to be cautious. We don’t want to overly speculate on what happened.”
