As a result of the tragedy that took place in Boston, many network series were pre-empted locally in various regions. Thus, the rises and falls that took place in the ratings are probably not indicative of a pattern. For the record though, NBC won the night.
The Voice hit a season high 5.2 demo, the singing competion's best number since March 2012. As we reported elsewhere, Revolution's latest episode was pre-empted nationally in favor of broadcasting a special news program entitled "Terror In Boston". The scheduled episode will now air next Monday.
CBS' entire line-up fell to precipitous lows, but as stated above, pre-emptions are likely a big part of that. HIMYM, and Rules of Engagement both set season lows, while 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, and Hawaii 5-0 dropped to series lows. Dancing With The Stars rose a tenth for ABC. Castle fell two tenths.
FOX's Bones dropped one tenth to a 1.9, and lead-out The Following set a new series low of 2.1. As for the CW, the season premiere of musical chairs-style game show Oh Sit! fell 20% from last year's series debut. The soon departing 90210 posted an 0.2, matching its last new episode.
