Teaser for new Ronald D. Moore SyFy series 'Helix'
Fans of SyFy's "Battlestar Galactica" reboot have been anticipating a new series from creator Ronald D. Moore for some time now, and the network finally gave viewers a look at what's to come for the creator's long-awaited follow up series.
The network released the first teaser trailer for "Helix," the 13 episode series produced by Moore, Lynda Obst ("Sleepless in Seattle", "Contact"), Steven Maeda ("Lost", "The X-Files") and Cameron Porsandeh. The science fiction thriller series revolves around a team of scientists from the Center for Disease Control working at a remote high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a disease outbreak. The team finds themselves pulled into a terrifying life and death struggle that could hold the key mankind's salvation or annihilation. While the teaser does little to expand on what is at this point an unknown cast, it at least gives viewers a taste of the creepiness that is in store for the new thriller.
"With its well-drawn characters, taut drama and incredible production team, we couldn't be more excited to see this intense thrill-ride of a series come to life," said Syfy's President of Original Content, Mark Stern.
An official release date for the new series has yet to be announced, but it is rumored to premiere toward the end of the year. Take a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think!

Let's see, The Thing and it's prequel, that episode of X-Files, and I'm fairly certain there are a couple more with this original premise.
