August 11, 9:00pm EST on AMC. Mark the date on your calendar: it's the first of the final eight episodes of AMC's smash hit drama 'Breaking Bad.'
'Breaking Bad' has won four Golden Globes and seven Emmy awards since it debuted in 2008; fans have been eagerly awaiting the second-half of its final, fifth season, which debuted on July 15, 2012. The announcement came earlier today from AMC, along with some further details on the return and a new follow-up series.
In the same vein as 'Talking Dead,' the AMC series devoted to discussing each episode of the hit drama 'The Walking Dead,' AMC will now debut 'Talking Bad' to accompany the final eight episodes of 'Breaking Bad's run. However, in an interesting move, 'Talking Bad' will not air immediately following each 'Breaking Bad' episode: that coveted timeslot is being given to AMC's upcoming drama 'Low Winter Sun' starring Mark Strong and Lennie James. 'Low Winter Sun' will air at 10:00pm EST, with 'Talking Bad' airing following the new drama series.
The last episode of 'Breaking Bad' to air, entitled "Gliding Over All," left us with quite an exciting cliffhanger; the final eight episodes promise massive changes for all of our beloved characters.
In the same series of announcements, AMC announced the renewals of 'Comic Book Men' and 'Freakshow.'
