Here's some news I don't think anyone expected to hear: 'Heroes' might be coming back. The NBC series, which ran from 2006 until 2010, is being eyed for a revival by MSN, who are looking to make it one of their first original programs for the Xbox.
MSN is reportedly in negotations to bring the show to Xbox consoles, joining other original content providers such as Netflix and Amazon in the web sphere.
The series would reportedly be rebooted, with entirely new characters and story arcs -- though cameos from the original cast are also a strong possibility.
I can't say I'm totally opposed to the idea. After all, the first season of Heroes was absolutely fantastic, though the show's rapid decline in quality thereafter led to its eventual euthanasia at the hands of NBC. It's a series that lends itself to anthology-style storytelling, so a reboot doesn't seem like an entirely unnecessary move. In fact, it could potentially avoid being entirely derivative (though here's a hint for the new 'Heroes': when you kill a character, make them stay dead!).
So yeah, this is interesting news, both for MSN and for the potential 'Heroes' franchise.
What do you think? Would you like to see Heroes return?
