MSN considering rebooting 'Heroes' for the Xbox

Here's some news I don't think anyone expected to hear: 'Heroes' might be coming back. The NBC series, which ran from 2006 until 2010, is being eyed for a revival by MSN, who are looking to make it one of their first original programs for the Xbox.

MSN is reportedly in negotations to bring the show to Xbox consoles, joining other original content providers such as Netflix and Amazon in the web sphere.

The series would reportedly be rebooted, with entirely new characters and story arcs -- though cameos from the original cast are also a strong possibility.

I can't say I'm totally opposed to the idea. After all, the first season of Heroes was absolutely fantastic, though the show's rapid decline in quality thereafter led to its eventual euthanasia at the hands of NBC. It's a series that lends itself to anthology-style storytelling, so a reboot doesn't seem like an entirely unnecessary move. In fact, it could potentially avoid being entirely derivative (though here's a hint for the new 'Heroes': when you kill a character, make them stay dead!).

So yeah, this is interesting news, both for MSN and for the potential 'Heroes' franchise.

What do you think? Would you like to see Heroes return?

would be good to see a reboot. I think the overall concept of the series is great and can be salvaged- personally, this was one of the best fantasy/scifi series i've watched

Heroes was great for awhile, and the first season of Touch was amazing.  F the haters.

No, let it stay dead. Anything with Tim Krings hands on it should never be revived. How on earth Touch has managed to stay alive this long I have no idea. "Alphas" was so much better than Heroes, and I was a loyal fan of Heroes. Bring Alphas back instead, it had a much better storyline and the characters had much better depth to them.

Eh, I'd give it a shot.  I had completely stopped caring about the show long before it ended, but the beginning was truly fantastic.

If it wasn't for the writers strike, this show would still be on!!! Don't get me wrong I was all for the writers getting more pay as if it wasn't for them we wouldn't get amazing stories in our shows.

I would love to see Heroes come back to life in a reboot, especially if they can get the original cast to comeo in some of the episodes. The time frame would have to be the same as the original but the location would have to be different.
