'Zombieland' trailer unleashed, pilot available for streaming

ZombielandA new dead is dawning.

That's the promotional tagline for the first television pilot from Amazon Studios, Zombieland, a continuation of the 2009 feature film starring relatively unknown actors in the roles originated by Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin. Today, a trailer for the new show arrived and Amazon is advertising that the pilot episode is currently available for free streaming on its website.

Zombieland is penned by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the creative team behind the movie, and stars Tyler Ross, Kirk Ward, Maiara Walsh, and Izabela Vidovic. Picking up two weeks after the conclusion of the film, the show promises to strike a similar horror/comedy tone as Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock travel across the country.

Following the lead of Netflix, Amazon decided to enter the arena of original programming. The site will debut twelve other pilots alongside Zombieland and determine which ones to take to series based on customer reviews.

Judging from the trailer below, Zombieland has potential, but the cast doesn't have the same chemistry as the original gang. Then again, I wasn't a huge fan of the movie, either. I do love the zombie genre, though, so I'll be checking it out and posting a review as soon as Amazon Instant Video allows me to watch it.

Seems like amazon is having a problem, all I get is a twelve second loop of "Coming Soon". Way to inspire confidence Amazon.
