In a classic Whoopi Goldberg move, when asked what she thinks about the possibility of having some new co-hosts replacing her current female companions on television, Whoopi responded by being her usual no-nonsense self. The rumour mill has been buzzing as of late with reports that Elisabeth Hasselbeck will be joining co-host Joy Behar in leaving The View, and everyone wants to know who the replacement(s) will be. Well, everyone except for Whoopi, that is.
"Let me tell you this about The View: I take a paycheck every other week. That's all I do. I could give a sh-- what comes," Goldberg told Us Weekly. "I do my job -- I have a contract. That's where I stand. I don't give a f---."
Whoopi went on to say that she does not have much of a say in what goes on in the casting department, or any other department really, so why should she care? "I don't care. That's not my job," she said. "My job is to show up and be cute by 11 o'clock and get the f--- off that show by 12. And that's what I try to do."
These are not decisions that I get to make," says Whoopi. "It ain't my show. It's Barbara’s show."
I may not watch The View, but Whoopi is being up-front and honest about the topic, and I love that.
