Allison Mack, who you know from playing Chloe on Smallville, has booked her first television gig since the show wrapped. Smallville aired for ten years, and after the series finale of May 2011, Mack has been focusing on stage work. Stage work may come naturally to the her, as she has been studying stage acting since age seven, but we are all ecstatic for her return to television. Mack landed a recurring role on the comedy Wilfred, as the love interest to Ryan, who is played by Elijah Wood. Wilfred airs on FX, which is known for having hilarious, offbeat comedies, and this show is no exception. In this series, which is based on an Australian comedy, the main character, Ryan, owns a dog named Wilfred (Jason Gann). Everyone in Ryan's life sees Wilfred as a normal dog, but Ryan sees Wilfred as a man in a dog suit.
The second season of Wilfred will feature Allison Mack playing a biochemist, who's character is described as "attractive and edgy."
Allison Mack is the fourth of her Smallville cast members to return to the silver screen. Other Smallville cast members that are now doing other television work include Justin Hartley, who is now playing a doctor on the CW's First Cut pilot, and has also appeared on Chuck. Cassidy Freeeman is now involved with Vampire Diaries and A & E's new show Longmire, and Erica Durance is now headlining the NBC series Saving Hope.
For those who just can't get enough Allison Mack, we just may see her in June's upcoming release of Piranha 3DD. Rumors have been circulating that she is to star in the Sci-FI horror sequel, alongside Christopher Lloyd, David Hasselhoff, and Gary Busey. Although it isn't confirmed, we are excited for her return to the silver screen on Wilfred, which premieres this summer.
