'American Pie' star calls SWAT on knife-wielding houseguest

Call it a one night stand gone horribly awry.

Eddie Kaye Thomas

Eddie Kaye Thomas, perhaps best known for his roles in the "American Pie" films and the Fox series "'Til Death," was forced to call police to his home after a woman wielding a knife caused damage to his home and threatened to kill him.

Thomas had invited the woman to his home and, when he later asked her to leave, she refused. Reports state that the unwanted houseguest then grabbed a knife and began destroying property, threatening the actor before eventually barricading herself inside.

Things got heated as the Los Angeles Police Department sent a SWAT team to the actor's home to deal with the incident. A six-hour stand-off followed, with police eventually employing the use of flash bang grenades and tear gas to force the woman out.

The incident alarmed Thomas' neighbors, including actress Minnie Driver, who tweeted a play-by-play during the showdown."Armed man has barricaded himself into the house just below mine. Swarming police. My dog is on high alert. No escape," she said, later following up with, "It's not an armed man, it's a disgruntled woman. Disgruntled is probably the wrong word..just had five rounds of (tear gas) explosions."

Stifler's mom was unavailable for comment.
