A month after its second season finale aired and six months after production wrapped, an ABC Family show remains in limbo.
“The Lying Game” is based on Sara Shepard’s books. It stars Alexandra Chando, Allie Gonino, Blair Redford, Andy Buckly, Charisma Carpenter and Helen Slater.
Alice Greczyn, who plays Mads, tweeted, “Kinda silly w everything else goin on, but want to let fans know that #TheLyingGame did not get picked up. Sorry! Thanks for all ur support!” She followed that up with the reassuring, “Should also note that nothing will be officially official til summer. #TVisaweirdworld.”
One fan, hopefully unaware of the major events of the past week, responded to her tweets with “This is the worst news ever.”
Executive producer and creator Chuck Pratt also tweeted, “#TheLyingGame ATTENTION ALL — The Lying Game inot dead! On hold til June. Would be back on the air in January. Do not give up the fight!” I’m guessing he meant “is not” (#twitterneedsaneditor).
ABC Family is also keeping its plans for “Bunheads” close to the vest. The series was created by Amy Sherman- Palladino and Lamar Damon, and stars Sutton Foster, Kaitlyn Jenkins, Julia Goldani Telles, Bailey Buntain and Emma Dumont.
