Mario Lopez from 'The Extra' will be returning for another season of the hit FOX reality competition 'The X-Factor' but his co-host Khloe Kardashian won't be by his side. No reason for Kardashian's parting was offered by 'The X-Factor' producers, who released the following statement: "Khloe Kardashian will not be returning to co-host 'The X-Factor.' We really enjoyed working with her and wish her all the best in her future endeavors."
Lopez and Kardashian stepped in as co-hosts for the second season of 'The X-Factor.' While Lopez has a lot of experience hosting shows and events, Kardashian seemed somewhat green, often earning the ire and mockery of media and viewers after her performances. Kardashian also made an unexpected splash when 'The X-Factor' began their live episodes for the second season, as the co-host neglected to wear a bra beneath a sheer purple top. Even Simon Cowell, creator of 'The X-Factor,' joined in on the mockery, quipping "May I say, Khloé, you’re looking very sexy… I think the air conditioning is on high tonight."
When asked about today's announcement, Cowell himself praised Lopez but opted to not mention Kardashian: "I’m thrilled Mario is back for Season Three of 'The X-Factor.' Hosting a live show and keeping the judges — especially Demi — in line, is not an easy job, but Mario is a pro and we are glad he’s coming back."
Lopez, Cowell, and Demi Lovato (mentioned in Cowell's statement) are the familiar faces returning to the series for the upcoming third season.
