While ABC Family's upcoming murder mystery thriller 'Twisted' doesn't debut until June, it has already earned a lot of press for its controversial subject matter. How controversial? Well the main character is a sixteen-year-old boy who murdered his aunt at age eleven.
The cast for 'Twisted' already included Denise Richards and Avan Jogia--now Jessica Tuck and Robin Givens have signed on for recurring roles, as well. The official description for 'Twisted' reads: "The series focuses on 16-year-old Danny Desai, who returns to his hometown after killing his aunt 5 years prior. While trying to rekindle old friendships and fit in with his judgmental peers, Danny becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a fellow classmate." Jogia plays the main character, Danny, while Richards plays Danny's mother, who once ruled the town's social scene but now struggles to put on a brave face with her son's return.
Tuck, pictured to the right, played Nan Flanagan on HBO's 'True Blood.' On 'Twisted' she will portray Gloria, the mother of deceased student Regina Crane. Uptight but controlled, Gloria has a bone to pick with Karen Desai (Richards) over her son Danny's suspected involvement in Regina's murder. Tuck appeared in 'Super 8' and a slew of television guest appearances, including 'Switched at Birth,' 'Bad Samaritans' and 'Naughty or Nice.'
Givens, pictured above, has recurred on 'Chuck' and recently guest starred on 'Suburgatory.' Givens will play the role of Judy, Lacey's (one of Danny's classmates) hip and outgoing mother who belongs to the same social circle as Gloria. Judy hopes to revive Lacey's rocky relationship with her former best friend from childhood Jo (played by Maddie Hasson).
'Twisted' debuts at 9 p.m. June 11 on ABC Family.
