The Following

NBC prevailed in the key demos, but lost the total viewer race to ABC.

The Voice took a hard four tenths drop down from last week's season high, but still easily won the night in all metrics. Revolution matched the 2.2 demo drawn by its last original episode. CBS' only new offering, Rules Of Engagement, went tumbling off a cliff. The comedy dropped six tenths from last week's season low, posting a meager 1.5. ABC's Dancing With The Stars fell a single tenth.

Castle rose two tenths to a 2.2, actually managing to tie Revolution in the demos and top it in total viewers. FOX's Bones matched last week's 1.9. The penultimate episode of The Following climbed up three tenths to a 2.4. The CW had a terrible night, with Oh Sit, and 90210 both putting up 0.3's. Sadly, 90210's number was actually up from last week's 0.2. Yikes.

I don't usually cover cable in these posts, but since you asked Wynn, the first episode of Defiance was Syfy's highest rated scripted premiere since the debut of Eureka back in 2006. Last night's second episode fell slightly in both the 18-49 demo and total viewer categories, but is still doing very well for its network. DVR viewership increases the numbers significantly, which is also helping.

How did Defiance fare on SyFy?
