A lot of networks hire one game show host at a time. However, TBS is a rebel and likes to play by its own rules. The network has gone out and raised the game by hiring two hosts for one series.
Comedians D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black have signed on to host Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host, a new TBS unscripted series that is scheduled to premiere later this year.
The need for two hosts is simple. Each comedian will tell a contestant a strange fact. One will be lying, the other telling the truth. The contestants, who will play one at a time, will have to pick which is being truthful.
"This is a game show where a host is legitimately trying to convince a contestant to choose the wrong answer," said EP Mark Burnett of One Three Mediay. “D.L. and Michael’s comedic styles are perfect for pulling this off. The comedy itself will be must-see television.”
"It's great to have D.L. Hughley and Michael Ian Black on board for TBS's Trust Me, I'm a Game Show Host," added TBS, TNT and TCM president and head of programming Michael Wright. "They possess the comedic instincts, sharp improvisational skills, sense of fun and easygoing charm necessary to earn the trust of contestants in this clever, one-of-a-kind game show from Mark Burnett, Will MacDonald and David Granger."
