'The Killing' season 3 promises multiple killings with new poster

After narrowly avoiding the cancellation axe last year, The Killing has been revived by AMC and Netflix for a twelve-episode third season. Unlike the first two seasons of the series, though, the series won't focus on the murder mystery surrounding the death of Rosie Larsen. Instead, the series is going to focus on multiple murders. As in, a serial killer.

The new poster for the show's third season was released by Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday, and promises at least seventeen victims, marked off as tally marks ("and counting," the poster promises).

To be honest, I'm a little skeptical. Serial killers have become television's new trend, much like the supernatural was just a few years ago -- we've already got The Following, Hannibal, and Bates Motel to satisfy our needs for multiple killings. Does The Killing need to add itself to that list?

In any case, it looks like this serial killer mystery will in fact be over this season -- the series promises us that it plans to solve the mystery by the end of the third season.

What do you think of the poster? Will you be watching The Killing season 3?

The Killing season 3 premieres June 2 at 8/7c on AMC.

I've already seen all three series of the Danish version, which is both longer (58 minutes, no commericials) and much better than the US version.

The Danish version is ten times better and about one third longer than each episode of the US version, 58 minutes to 44 minutes.

I watch these shows for entertaining, that's it. And there are no better shows than the US shows for entertainment. Liked both seasons of The Killing. Never watched the Danish version and probably I never will, because I like to understand what the actors are saying, not just read subs all the time.

True, there's much more meat on the bone in the danish original version, I agree :) Season one especially. It's definitely the better of the two versions, but I still liked the US one as well. Found it quite decent and was happy when they announced the third season due to Netflix. Less happy about the serial killer theme change though :/

And dude it is :)

wynn, Dude or Dudette, the messages woven into the Danish version are lacking in the US version. It's just the way the US makes television and film these days. The fifteen year old male is not interested in anything that will cause them to ponder their world and TPTB. Babes and guns, or if you are a sexually ambivalent Hipster Dudes and guns.I find myself more and more impressed with European media and the themes espoused. More of a purpose with complexity of issue. Asian film was like that for a while. Now it's harder to find something deep and insightful.

Actually liked both the danish and US versions of season 1 (1+2 in the US), but maybe that's just me.

Shitty show that in no way compares to the originals. Just run the Danish original and fuck everyone who refuses to, or can not, read subtitles.

I'm glad. Serial Killer shows are always awesome for me. The more the better, and there are already over 20 police procedural shows out there .... so serial killer plot is much better than the simple investigation and suspects questioning.
