Don Draper has landed a nice new gig.
Or rather, Jon Hamm has.
ESPN has signed the talented actor/future underwear model (you wish) to serve as the host of its annual sports award extravaganza, the ESPYs, this July.
Hamm kidded that he was selected for the position because of his "marginally successful" time as a high school athlete.
"I’m very excited to be hosting the ESPYs. As a longtime sports fan and a marginally successful high school athlete, I feel my skill-set jibes well with a host’s duties," said Hamm. "I now have to figure out what cleats to wear with a tuxedo."
Hamm, who has also appeared in the feature film Bridesmaids, as well as on 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live, also recently landed the starring role in upcoming sports drama Million Dollar Arm.
This year's ESPYS are scheduled for July 17 from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. Live (in Los Angeles, duh).
This is quite the get for ESPN, as the last two hosts - Rob Riggle and Seth Meyers (2012 and 2011, respectively), while quite talented men, do not have quite the attention surrounding them that the red-hot Hamm does.
"The combination of Jon’s dry wit with his passion for sports will give fans a unique and original view of the year in sports," said ESPYs executive producer Maura Mandt about Hamm.
