A.J. Clemente's life has certainly changed a lot since he made his debut on KFYR, an NBC affiliate in North Dakota.
That debut has been immortalized on the internet, as Clemente's debut also led to his departure, after his foul mouth made air. Suddenly he was a viral star and today he had done the rounds, appearing on Live with Kelly and Michael, Morning Joe and Today. He also will be taping the Late Show with David Letterman tonight, a day after Letterman did a "Top Ten Signs Your First Day as a News Anchor Didn't Go Well" list.
"Rookie mistake. I'm a free agent. Cant help but laugh at myself and stay positive. Wish i didnt trip over my 'Freaking Shoes' out of the gate," Clemente said Monday on Twitter, at least taking his firing in good humor.
While he tried to play it cool to his followers, he was a bit more honest today on...uhhh...Today.
"(The incident was) gut-wrenching. I didn't even know I said it on camera until my news director walked in on the third break," he said. "It's inexcusable, first, to even say those words."
On Morning Joe, Tom Brokaw told Clemente about when he made an error as a young anchor, but added that "It wasn't as explicit as yours was by any means."
What is next for Clemente?
