AMC is moving ahead with a new drama pilot being developed by Blake Masters (Brotherhood).
The show is called Line of Sight and is based on a National Transportation Safety Board investigator who walks away from a mysterious plane crash. Lewis Bernt then goes on a quest to find out what exactly happened to him during the crash, with it taking over his entire life and turning him into an obsessed, paranoid man. The overview of the show calls it a "genre-bending odyssey."
The pilot is being developed by Fox TV Studios and AMC Studios. Production on the pilot is scheduled to begin later this year.
"Blake Masters has created a world and set of characters that defies the traditional boundaries of drama and sci-fi. It's got great elements of both genres while also having that unique blend of a conspiracy thriller. It is genuinely unexpected and unconventional,” said Joel Stillerman, AMC’s executive vice president original programming, production and digital content. “It is also great to be working with our incredible partners at FTVS again."
I am not sure what I think of this. It sounds like an interesting concept, but for an ongoing series? This seems like it would work better as a contained miniseries with a definite conclusion in mind before even beginning.
What do you think?
