Comedy Central renews 'Jeselnik Offensive,' 'Nathan for You'

Comedy Central is staying in the Anthony Jeselnik and Nathan Fielder business.

Freshman series “The Jeselnik Offensive” and “Nathan for You” have both been given second seasons by the Viacom-owned network.

Ten new episodes of “The Jeselnik Offensive” will begin in July, and the same number of “Nathan for You” episodes will start in 2014.

“Anthony and Nathan share dashing good looks and razor-sharp wit. One of them is also a humanitarian,” Kent Alterman, Comedy Central's president of content development and original programming said in a statement announcing the news.

"Sounds good," Fielder said, with Jeselnik adding: “I don't know what joke Kent Alterman attempted in this press release, but I'm sure it's terrible."

Alterman has been aggressive about getting more original series on the network. Both shows debuted in February.

“The Jeselnik Offensive” is exec produced by Jeselnik, head writer Tom Johnson, Krysia Plonka and Christie Smith of Mosaic. It features audience-participation games, Jeselnik’s take on news and segments with guest panelists like Aziz Ansari, Nick Kroll and Kristen Schaal.

“Nathan for You” is a docu-reality comedy exec produced by Fielder, Michael Koman and Dave Kneebone. Fielder draws on his business background to give struggling businesses off the wall strategies to “help” them.

It is totally the right move to give these shows another season, especially Nathan for You! I was actually just chatting with some friends around my office at DISH about how much we love this show, so they are going to be stoked about this news. But not everyone I know will be jumping for joy about this renewal, including my boyfriend. : ( He never wants to watch it with me, but his lack of a funny bone doesn’t force me to miss out. Since our DISH Hopper DVR has three independent tuners, we can both see what shows we want at the same time without having to brawl about it!

Love the pick-ups by Comedy Central; great choices. How about Key&Peele, T.J. Miller's Mash-up, The Burn w/Jeff Ross and maybe Ben Hoffman's show?
