CBS is investing in a Money Pump.
The network has added a new game show to its developmental roster. The show is based on an Israeli format that was created by Gili Golan, Adi Golan and Harel Joseffson.
In the program, contestants will go head-to-head with an oversized "money pump", with $1 million being up for grabs. Contestants will work in pairs to answer trivia questions of increasing difficulty. After a period of time, the money pump will turn on and the prize money will decrease rapidly. Answering all the questions leads to the team keeping whatever money remains.
Scheduled to host is Kevin Frazier, who appears on omg! Insider.
The project, from ITV Studios America, will be executive produced by Adam Golder. The format is owned by Tanin Productions & TV Ltd., and distributed exclusively by Dori Media Interational GMBH.
CBS already has The Price is Right, Let's Make a Deal, The Amazing Race, Undercover Boss, Big Brother and Survivor in its competition/game show arsenal, so if this show does go forward from here, it will join a pretty talented roster – arguably the best in the industry.
It is not known when the network would air the series, but the money being offered puts this solidly in the prime time category.
