Next summer's premiere of the sixth season of USA's Burn Notice will feature Anson (Jere Burns) and Rebecca (Kristanna Loken) reprising their villainous roles. We also know that they will both be recurring characters in the series, so we can expect to see more Anson and Michael (Jeffery Donovan) action next season.
Burn Notice revolves around the character of Michael Westin, who is a covert opations agent, living in Miami. He receives news that he has been "burned", or rather, deemed as being an unreliable agent and thus cut off from his organizations, funds, and information. After years of desperate searching, stuck in Miami, Westin finally gets some answers about who burned him. Anson, who had been blackmailing Michael for years, is part of the organization that burned Westin.
Anson had a lot of leverage on Michael, as he had tricked Fiona into confessing for a murder that she did not commit, and threatened to turn this information over to the police if he ever went against his wishes.
Last season's finale was intense, with Anson and Michael shifting the position of power back and forth, until ultimately, Michael came out on top. Fiona turned herself into the FBI, which released Michael from Anson's control, but devastated him as well. We also learned in the finale that Rebecca had actually been working with Anson the whole time. Anson will definitely be coming back to reclaim his control over Westin, looking for "other devious resources to enact his plans." We can only assume that Rebecca will be returning to assist him.
Other stars that we can look forward to seeing next season include Taryn Manning of Sons of Anarchy and John C. McGinley from Scrubs. McGinley is said to be playing a key role in the upcoming season, playing a former mentor to Westin.
Burn Notice will begin its sixth season summer 2012.
