Conan O'Brien lampoons networks at White House Correspondents' Dinner

O'BrienLast night was the annual White House Correspondent's Dinner, the yearly celebration held in honor of the White House Press Corps which sees celebrities, politicians and those that cover them mix together for an evening of fun that has been dubbed Nerd Prom.

Conan O'Brien served as the host last night at the event. While in previous years the presidents often take some light jabs, O'Brien did not rock Barack Obama too hard with anything, teasing about job creation ("Since he was reelected, the number of popes has doubled and the number of Tonight Show hosts has tripled."), email donations (“You won. Do you have a gambling problem we don’t know about?”) and aging (saying that Obama could fit in his own staff now with how white his hair has become).

Television networks, on the other hand, did not get off nearly as easy. CNN was ridiculed, as O'Brien said that conservatives watch Fox News, liberals have MSNBC and that CNN is watched by "the people who clean the offices of CNN.

“They replaced the popular Larry King with a second footman from Downton Abbey,” he added, teasing Piers Morgan.

NBC, O'Brien's former home pre-Jay Leno job theft, also took some hits. Brian Williams' Rock Center program was teased due to its ultra-serious tone.

“Imagine Brian delivering the evening news on a different floor in the building, a little later, with a slightly different tie,” O’Brien said. “It’s a mind blower.”

Bill O'Reilly, the hero of Fox News, was needed as well for his upcoming Killing Jesus book, as O'Brien said that the boom will be the first time that Jesus' death is blamed on Obamacare.

Did you watch the dinner? What did you think?
