Anyone who watches HBO's Game of Thrones can tell you that Daenerys Targaryen is not the lady to mess with. Initially irritating her would have drawn you the ire of the Khal. And then, after he was no longer in the picture, she "birthed" three dragons. Unless you have a hobbit burglar with you, you do not mess with dragons. EVER.
Playing Daenerys has brought stardom to Emilia Clarke, who has been cast in the starring role in James Franco's next film, The Garden of Last Days. Franco will be directing the film, with Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Danielle Robinson, Hanna Weg, Vince Jolivette and Miles Levy producing.
The film is based on a 2008 novel by Andre Dubus III (who also wrote House of Sand and Fog) and looks at how family and sex intertwine at a strip club in Florida over the course of an evening. Clarke will play a stripper (guessing by Game of Thrones, nudity is on the table here) who brings her daughter, a three-year-old, with her to work. I am not sure that is what everyone had in mind when they came up with take your daughter to work day, but you have to do what you have to do, right?
Production on the film is scheduled to begin this July.
