Ben Affleck's great 2013 is poised to continue. In an honor that undoubtingly eclipses his film, Argo, winning the Best Picture Academy Award earlier this year, Affleck is scheduled to receive the coveted Guy of the Year Award at Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards.
The awards are scheduled for June 8 at Culver City's Sony Pictures lot, but will air four days later on June 12 at 9 p.m. Tape delayed awards show, how very '80s of the network.
Affleck is not the only celebrity scheduled to be honored that evening, as ABC's Jimmy Kimmel will receive the Funniest M.F. Award and Vince Vaughn will receive the Guycon Award.
Other awards include Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) receiving the Holy Grail of Hot Award, Kevin Hart getting the inaugural Stand-Up of the Year Award, and Felix Baumgartner (you know, the insane person who did the free-fall space jump late last year) getting the Mankind Award.
“As always, we're looking forward to honoring the men of the year and the women we love in our own Spike way,” said Casey Patterson, executive vice president event production, talent development and studio relations at Viacom Entertainment Group. “Guys Choice promises to be a star-studded night of totally meaningless entertainment.”
Voting for other awards began today at guyschoice.spike.com.
