'The Show With Vinny' hits MTV with Lil' Wayne appearing in premiere

VinnyTry as America might, the stink of Jersey Shore is never going to wash off it will keep giving its stars new gigs (I may or may not have watched the first few seasons of the program - like Mark McGwire, I am not here to talk about the past).

MTV's latest Jersey Shore-inspired offering dropped last night, in the form of The Show With Vinny. This is generally when I would describe the show, but I will let Vinny Guadagnino take it away. Vinny, the floor is yours.

“The Show With Vinny is a hybrid talk show reality show,” he recently said. “Celebrities come over to my house where I grew up in Staten Island. My mother cooks for them, we have a big Sunday dinner with my family, I interview them [and] sometimes we do something fun.”

In April, viewers were treated to a sneak peak of the show. Vinny's crew hit the gym with Mark Wahlberg and Ke$ha stopped by to help Vinny prank his Uncle Nino, an experience Nino says he still has nightmares about.

For the official premiere, Lil' Wayne showed up and chowed down on some of Mama Guadagnino's broccoli rabe and then went to the local skate park with Vinny.

“No talk show has ever been filmed like this,” says Vinny. “It really is a lot of fun and the celebrities, you see them in a way you’ve never seen them before.”

Anyone see the premiere? Thoughts?

I’m super excited about this show, but that is because I’m a die-hard Jersey Shore fan. In fact, I’m really more of a die-hard reality show fan, which drives my hubby nuts! I was actually just giggling with a gal in my office at DISH about the lengths he’d go through to avoid watching these shows with me. We finally had to upgrade to the DISH Hopper to stop these remote squabbles! Now that we have a DVR with three independent tuners, we can both watch what we want at the same time.
