A “Revenge” executive producer has signed a new overall deal with ABC Studios, and has also taken on a new job.
Sunil Nayar will continue as executive producer of “Revenge” under the two-year deal, and will also take over as showrunner for its third season.
After creator/exec producer/showrunner Mike Kelley left the show, Nayar was expected to take over. Nayar had been at ABC studios since 2011. He spent two seasons as exec producer of ABC drama “Body of Proof” before moving to “Revenge” last summer.
Nayar started as an assistant to Tom Fontana on “Homicide” before getting his first writing job on Fontana’s prison drama “Oz” on HBO. Before coming to ABC Studios Nayar spent more than five years on “CSI: Miami” while at CBS Studios He worked his way up to an executive producer.
Nayar is represented by CAA.
“Revenge” stars Madeleine Stowe, Emily VanCamp, Gariel Mann, Henry Czerny, Ashley Madekwe, Nick Wechsler, Josh Bowman, Barry Sloane, Connor Paolo and Christa B. Allen. In the series, Emily Thorne (played by VanCamp) returns to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who framed her father for a crime he did not commit and sent him to prison for life.
