Toronto-based model Jenna Talackova has been passionately pursuing her goal to work as a professional model for years. Jenna, who was born as Walter before getting a sex change later in life, was rejected from the Miss Universe Canada pageant on the basis that although he is undoubtedly a beauty queen, she is a transgender one. Donald Trump was apparently not too keen on allowing her to compete. What’s that? Another person Donald Trump doesn’t like. Welcome to the party, the guest list is a long one.
After all the media attention and headlines surrounding Talackova’s Miss Universe Canada bid, she has now secured an eight-episode order for a documentary series from E! Canada. The series, Brave New Girl, will document her journey to become a professional model. Talackova will be joined in the series by some of her friends, a documentary filmmaker and an outspoken model and student.
Brave New Girl producer, and president of Peacock Alley, Carrie Mudd is thrilled to be involved in the series with Talackova. “Jenna's glamorous life, unique voice and pop culture relevance is a perfect fit for E!'s fabulous brand of entertainment,” said Mudd.
Brave New Girl will go into production this summer and will premiere on E! in the fall of 2013.
