Three guests on an FX spy drama have been bumped to regulars for the second season.
Annet Mahendru plays Nina, a Russian spy, and Alison Wright plays FBI secretary Martha on “The Americans.” Susan Misner plays Sandra Beeman, and was also promoted to a regular.
Production on season two is expected to begin this fall. “The Americans” stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as Cold War-era spies. It is Russell’s first regular role in a drama series since “Felicity.” She also recently appeared on the short-lived comedy “Running Wilde.” Rhys co-starred in ABC’s long-running “Brothers and Sisters” until recently.
The series was created by former CIA agent and “Falling Skies” writer Joe Weisberg. Weisberg exec produces with Joel Fields, Graham Yost and Justin Falvey from Amblin TV, and Darryl Frank for Fox TV Studios and FX Productions.
Mahendru has appeared on “2 Broke Girls,” “Mike & Molly” and “Big Time Rush,” as well as features “Escape from Tomorrow” and “Love Gloria.” UK native Wright appeared in “The Nanny Diaries.” This is his first television role.
Misner recently had an arc on ABC’s “Nashville,” as veterinarian Stacey who dated Deacon Claybourne (played by Charles Esten) until he reunited with Rayna James (played by Connie Britton).
