ATX Television Festival to host free community sunset screening of 'Friday Night Lights' episode

Friday Night Lights

It is times like these that I become incredibly jealous of anyone who lives in a major U.S. city. Born and raised in Ontario, Canada, I don’t get the opportunity to go to things like free sunset screenings of my favourite television show ever, where members of the cast will be in attendance and the fans choose what they want to watch. What I am talking about is, yesterday morning ATX Television Festival announced that they will host a free community sunset screening of a fan-voted episode of Friday Night Lights on Friday, June 7th at the Hotel San Jose in Austin, Texas.

Attending this free screening, alongside all the lucky fans, will be Friday Night Lights cast members Gaius Charles (Smash), Scott Porter (Jason Street), Matt Lauria (Luke Cafferty), Stephanie Hunt (Devin Boland) and Louanne Stephens (Grandma Saracen).

You can RSVP for the event and cast your votes here, and I will pretend not to hate you a little bit inside for being lucky enough to attend. I don’t know about you guys, but my vote would go to the very first episode of the series. There is something about that pilot episode, and Coach Taylor’s speech at the end, that is pure television magic.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose. Now, excuse me while I go binge watch every episode from the beginning.

Is it weird to me that there are outdoor tele4vision festivals at all?
