British born television series, The IT Crowd, ended its run back in 2010. However, the show is getting one last chance to tie up loose ends and say farewell to the series in a single finale episode.
Since the series’ cancellation rumours have been flying around about the possibility of resurrecting the show for a fifth season to give closure to the characters and storylines. Series creator, Graham Linehan, tweeted in 2012 that he had created a script to do just this, but was waiting on the cast members availabilities and busy schedules to clear up. The day has finally come!
The IT Crowd was a British show about a group of computer guys and their humorous daily adventures. Since the show originally aired, main star Chris O’Dowd has become fairly famous in North America (most recognizably in his roles in Bridesmaids and Girls), and it is likely that his busy film and television career as of late complicated the series’ reboot. EW has confirmed that O’Dowd will be reprising his role as Roy Trenneman in a 40-minute long special final episode to wrap up the television cult-favourite.
Also confirmed to return for the special episode are cast members Richard Ayoade, Katherine Parkinson and Matt Berry.
