Warning! Spoilers ahead from last night’s season four episode of Glee.
Last night’s season four finale of Glee may have been the very last time to see actress Heather Morris in the role of Brittany S. Pierce. Morris, who has been on the Fox musical drama since season one, does not currently have a deal to return to the series. In addition, Morris announced in April that she and boyfriend Taylor Hubbell are expecting their first child together.
Morris was originally cast in Glee by the shows choreographer to teach the cast members how to dance to Beyonce’s ‘Single Ladies’ (she was a dancer on tour with the singer). Once Glee creator Ryan Murphy discovered her uncanny knack for funny one-liners, she was cast as a minor character and gradually grew into one of the most loved cast-members on the series.
Last night’s episode served as a worthy farewell to Brittany. The group finds out that Brittany has been granted early admission to MIT, and after performing with the glee club, she sings her fairwell and bids her classmates goodbye.
What is more likely is that Morris will return to the series as a guest star, as many of her co-stars who’s characters have moved on from high school have (Dianna Agron, Amber Riley, Mark Salling and Harry Shum Jr.).
