In advance of the sneak peek at Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., ABC has released a teaser for the teaser, slated to air tonight during the 8:00 PM season finale of Once Upon A Time.
The action-packed seven-second montage shows Clark Gregg reprising his film role as Agent Phil Coulson, who was killed in last summer's 3D blockbuster The Avengers. Although the origins of Coulson's return have been kept under wraps, many fans rejoiced when it was announced he would be anchoring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the first television project from Marvel Studios.
The teaser teaser also features some of the new characters who will be introduced in the series. The cast includes Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, and Chloe Bennet as computer hacker Skye.
Also visible is a mysterious hooded figure wearing yellow pants, leaping out of a burning building with a woman in his arms. In the comic book Marvel Universe, there is one character known for his trademark yellow pants that fans have been clamoring to see brought to life. One of the first mainstream African-American comic superheroes, Luke Cage gained superhuman strength and nearly impenetrable skin following an accident, according to Marvel lore.
Last month, rumors swirled that Joss Whedon had cast J. August Richards (Angel) in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a top-secret role. Could comic book fans finally see Luke Cage jump from the page to the screen?
