Joss Whedon unveils extended trailer for 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'
ABC's upcoming action-drama 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' was already red-hot with buzz and anticipation. Blockbuster feature film writer and director Joss Whedon wrote the series, as he has such smash hits as 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Angel.' Fan-favorite actor Clark Gregg is returning to reprise his fan-favorite role from 'Marvel's The Avengers,' Agent Phil Coulson. And to top it all off, there have been the rumors of various Marvel character appearances and cameos throughout the series.
Well this new trailer should cause that buzz and anticipation to go nuclear.
At the ABC upfront presentation, ABC President Paul Lee talked of the history of the project. "Last spring, Bob Iger sent us some bonus footage from 'The Avengers' with a simple question, ‘Is there a show here?" The answer was yes and that show is taking shape before our eyes. 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' will take the coveted Tuesday night timeslot in the fall that was previously given to 'Dancing with the Stars;' 'Dancing with the Stars' will now assume a Monday night two-hour block.
Whedon himself appeared at the upfront and introduced the trailer below. Whedon had kind words for 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' leading man Clark Gregg, calling him "an actor so talented even I couldn't kill him." Whedon is referring to the apparent death of Agent Phil Coulson in 'Marvel's The Avengers;' his continued life is a twist that Whedon and Gregg promises will be revealed in a fan-pleasing manner.
