CBS' "Person of Interest" just got a lot more interesting.
The suspense drama announced today that Sarah Shahi ("Fairly Legal") would be upgraded to a series regular when the series returns for its third season this fall.
Shahi has appeared on the high concept series in several episodes during its second season, portraying Samantha Shaw, a former Marine turned operative with the highly secretive Intelligence Support Activity organization. Shaw operates within similar parameters as Jim Caviezel's John Reese and Michael Emerson's Harold Finch, stopping terrorists before their plots can cause any harm.
At the time, the actress teased that the multiple episode guest arc had the potential to become something more, telling The Hollywood Reporter, "All I've been told is that it's a multi-episode arc, and they can use me as much as they would like to through the end of their year."
News of the casting comes along with the announcement by CBS that "Person of Interest" would be relocated from its Thursday 9 PM EST home to a new Tuesday night time slot at 10 PM EST.
What do you think about the addition of Shahi to the cast? Could she add a new dynamic to the pre-crime exploits of Reese and Finch?
