This week seems to be all about NBC's 'The Voice'. After word broke that Christina Aguilera was considering coming back to the series, that news was quickly confirmed and announced by NBC, as was the fact that Shakira would be leaving the judging position for the next season.
Now it appears that her fellow new judge will be joining her as one-and-done on the series, as Usher is rumored to be on his way out the door as well, with original judge Cee Lo Green reportedly getting ready to retake his spot.
Usher will be playing Sugar Ray Robinson in 'Hands of Stone', a new feature film starring Robert De Niro. It would be difficult to do both projects at the same time.
Green will be appearing on next week's 'The Voice' broadcast as a guest mentor. Would be a really easy way to announce his full-time return, wouldn't it?
It is believed that Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will be returning to the series next season. If so - and if Green does return - that would reunite the original judges on the series.
Judges are allowed to come and go on the program, if they want to take time off to focus on their professional singing careers that is okay with the production staff. So while Usher and Shakira may be leaving us, they could always show back up again.
