CBS has added a new regular cast member for the upcoming ninth and final season of its hit series How I Met Your Mother. Viewers who caught the season eight finale already know who it is, as Cristin Milioti's unnamed character (who also happens to be THE Mother in the title that Ted has been chasing for years now) has officially moved to part of the regular rotation on the program.
Well, duh, right.
She joins Alyson Hannigan, Neil Patrick Harris, Josh Radnor, Jason Segel and Cobie Smulders as full-time cast members on the program - the first series regular added since the series began.
How I Met Your Mother's last season is going to shatter the mold that has been set so far, according to what CBS entertainment chief Nina Tassler said at the network's upfront presentation. EVERY episode during the final season will take place during the weekend wedding celebration of Barney (Harris) and Robin (Smulders). All the regular cast members will meet and get to know the Mother before Ted does.
Milioti has also appeared on The Good Wife, 30 Rock and The Sopranos during her career, but this is her first full-time TV gig. She is best known for her Tony-nominated turn in the Broadway play Once.
