Ke$ha targeted by PTC for drinking urine on MTV series

Pop star Ke$ha is being showered in controversy after indulging in a dubious beverage on her MTV reality series.

The Parent Television Council is steaming over the "disgusting, vile content" that appeared on a recent episode of "Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life," which featured the pop star drinking her own urine.

The advocacy group is using the event to call on the cable industry to unbundle channel selections, instead allowing their subscribers the option to pick and choose which channels they wish to receive.

The PTC did not hold back the outpouring of rage in an open letter to its supporters, stating: "Why should we have to pay for this kind of garbage just so we can get access to Discovery, Disney, or the Golf Channel? It’s outrageous — and it shouldn’t be that way. Consumers deserve choice. We should all have the ability to choose and pay for only the channels we want to watch... but the cable industry won’t let that happen without a fight."

The PTC went on to praise Senator John McCain after the legislator introduced a bill to Capitol Hill that would push for a la carte cable to become the norm. While popular among cable subscribers, political observers state that it is unlikely to become law.

The pop star has not responded directly to the trickle of criticism, but let on in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that she would be drinking number one only one time. "I heard it was good for you. That was, like, the rumor," she said. "But I don’t know. I’m also just one that doesn’t shy away from things. I’m not good at saying 'no' so I just figure, f--- it, I’ll try anything once. So I tried it. I wouldn’t recommend it. It was pretty gross. And I don’t think it really did anything very beneficial to me so, yeah, I wouldn’t probably do it again."
