After a (literally) explosive second season, Homeland is returning to Showtime in September for a third year -- and this time, Carrie (Claire Danes) and Brody (Damian Lewis) will be joined by some new faces. Two new recurring cast members have been added for season 3: Boss's Amy Morton and Prison Break's Tracy Letts, according to TVLine.
Amy Morton, who played Senator Catherine Walsh on Starz's gone-too-soon political drama Boss, is joining Homeland as Erin Kimball, a CIA appointed attorney for Carrie. Considering the horrifying events of the season 2 finale -- and the fact that people are going to be asking a lot of questions about Carrie and Brody -- an attorney might just be what Carrie needs.
Letts, meanwhile, is reportedly playing Senator Andrew Lockhart, described by TVLine as a "powerful, authoritative and commanding Committee Chairman." Our guess is that he'll be investigating that crippling terrorist attack -- and we bet he won't be Carrie's friend.
What do you think about these new additions to the Homeland cast? Will you be tuning into the series when it returns for its third season?
Homeland season 3 premieres Sunday, September 28 on Showtime.
