Matt Rogers, who was a finalist on the third season of Fox's American Idol, has landed a new gig: that of camp counselor.
More specifically, he will be hosting USA's new reality competition Summer Camp.
The show will see 16 adults from various walks of life heading to Big Bear, Calif., to compete against one another in competitions that are inspired by classic camp games. As the numbers dwindle, the series will conclude with an epic "Campathalon," which is being billed as an "ultimate Olympic-style event."
“A reality TV veteran, Matt brings a relatability and an energy that is a perfect fit for this fun-filled summer competition series,” said Heather Olander, senior vice president of alternative programming for USA Network. “As a former camper himself, we are excited to see Matt relive the experience all over again alongside this incredible group of characters.”
The show is being developed by Big Brother producers Alison Grodner and Rich Meehan.
Rogers is an experienced TV host, as he has hosted programs such as GSN's Beat the Chefs, Discovery Channel's Really Big Things, CBS' There Goes the Neighborhood and Lifetime's Coming Home.
Summer Camp kicks off July 11 at 8 p.m. Will you be heading to camp?
