'Mad Men' meets Daft Punk? Video sets Ken Cosgrove's tap-dancing to "Doin' It Right"
Here's an unholy union if you've ever seen one: Mad Men and Daft Punk. The AMC series and the electronic music duo are polar opposites in almost every way, but, as it turns out, they make a pretty fantastic pairing.
Sunday's episode of Mad Men featured a really left-field storyline which saw nearly everyone in the still-unnamed ad agency doped up on energy shots. And while the shot left Don in an episode-long near-fugue state, Ken Cosgrove (Aaron Stanton) seemed more alert than ever -- to the point of doing a show-stopping tapdance number that has become one of Mad Men's most memed moments yet.
But easily one of the catchiest forms of this meme combines the tapdancing with Daft Punk's song "Doin' It Right," from their album Random Access Memories which came out on Tuesday. I can't say I'm the biggest Daft Punk fan, but I just can't stop watching the video. I think it has something to do with Don's confused face being synched with the music.
Here's our favorite comment from the video's YouTube page: "The best part is that this would not have been out of place in this episode."
You can check out the video for yourself below. Personally, I'm left wanting more. Maybe a video of Pete falling down the stairs repeatedly, set to "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger"?
Mad Men's next episode, "The Better Half," airs Sunday, May 26 at 10/9c on AMC.
