Earlier this month The Wrap made a report that all of the judges from this past season of American Idol have gotten the boot, in addition to executive producer Nigel Lythgoe. After a season which more than disappointed in the ratings, it seems that Idol is looking to have a clean start when it returns for its 13th season. The latest rumour flying around is that the upcoming season will feature a judging panel made up of Idol alums. So, the question is, which Idol alums are in and which are out?
Season three American Idol contestant, Jennifer Hudson, is reportedly currently in talks to join the series as a judge for next season. Hudson only made it to seventh place during her season, but she then went on to win an Oscar, a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award for her role in the film Dreamgirls.
Contrary to popular belief, one Idol vet you won’t be seeing behind the table next season is the series’ first winner, Kelly Clarkson. A representative for Kelly confirmed yesterday that she will not be appearing on season 13, which Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says will likely return to its original three-judge panel format.
Which Idol vets would you like to see as judges next season?
