Amanda Bynes arrested for bong smashing

A&E might want to rethink canceling "Intervention," because I have a feeling an Amanda Bynes episode would be a ratings goldmine.

Hey, baby.

As reported by TMZ, Bynes was arrested Thursday night following yet another run in with the law. Police were called to Bynes' Midtown Manhattan apartment by the doorman, who alleged that the former "What I Like About You" star was smoking marijuana in the lobby.

Bynes had taken the party back to her 36th floor apartment before police had arrived, but when officers announced themselves they saw a bong thrown out the apartment window, presumably so as to dispose of incriminating evidence.

Unfortunately for Bynes, cops tend to notice a thick fog of pot smoke hanging in the air, and the officers proceeded to place the actress under arrest. She is charged with criminal possession of marijuana, while the bong smashing added reckless endangerment and evidence tampering to the rap sheet.

The actress has been stuck in a downward spiral for some time now, with this arrest just the latest of her legal issues, such as an arrest for drunk driving and hit-and-run incidents in which she was also presumably intoxicated. Throw in the recent ill-advised cheek piercings, bizarre Tweets, plus the head shaving and suddenly Lindsay Lohan seems like she has her life in order.
