Tonight is the much-anticipated premiere of new Arrested Development episodes. The wonderfully witty sitcom, which was cancelled by FOX in 2006 after just three seasons, is making its return tonight via the streaming service Netflix. Fifteen all-new episodes (just don't call it season 4) are premiering tonight at midnight.
But which midnight? Strangely enough, that's still unclear.
From what little information there is floating around the internet, it appears to mean midnight on the West Coast -- 3.a.m. for East Coasters. It's certainly an unusual practice to schedule worldwide premieres on PST -- giving East Coasters a clear disadvantage -- but hey, what about Arrested Development's revival has been conventional?
If you want to be certain, though, there's apparently a text-messaging service that will help you out, according to the International Business Times. Apparently, texting "ANN" to 619-EGG-VEAL (619-344-8325) will have a text sent to you through an automated service right when the episodes premiere. It's a service reportedly created by two Arrested Development superfans, and it won't text you again after that initial reminder. (We've signed up for it, but seeing as the episodes haven't premiered yet, there's no way to be certain of its veracity.)
But hey, who's not willing to stay up a few extra hours on Memorial Day weekend for new Arrested Development, anyway? After all, it's been almost seven years since we last saw the Bluth family.
What do you think? Will you be staying up to watch the new episodes, or will you just catch them in the morning?
